Reflection for Pre Prelims by Nathanael

Having come to the preliminary round, I feel both nervous and excited to know the results of the judging. I think that my group has done quite well so far, but lots of improvement can still be made.
Looking at our progress, I feel both contented but disappointed. The former because we have managed to complete at least 20 percent of our project, but the latter because we have failed to space out our work and have proper time management. If I were to travel back in time, I would have asked my leader to organize regular meetings and avail some time for them. Along the way, our group faced some difficulties like minor tiffs between group members. For example, we faced the problem of how to split our work, as we regarded everything as unfair. However, in the end, our leader decided to assign work according to one’s abilities. I feel that it was a very practical solution and feel proud of my leader’s quick thinking. We also could not find time to meet regularly because things cropped up last-minute to some of our group members. One time was when I fell sick for a few days and failed to attend a meeting with my mentor. However, that problem was soon resolved when my leader called and informed me of the day’s processions. I feel that our teamwork has been satisfactory so far and I hope that we can be able to bond more as a group after this project.
I have also learned a lot through doing this project. For example, one valuable takeaway from this project was the lesson of cooperation and submission to authority. I learned that submitting to authority is a must in order for things to work out well. I can apply this in my life by remembering this and respecting my teacher or my boss when I grow up to work. I also learned that serving people could be a fun thing to do. It is both beneficial to others and me. I hope to conduct similar projects when given the opportunity to do so.
I think that our project will be quite successful and I hope that we would be able to go through to the next round. If able to, I would definitely work hard and strive to improve to the top. In conclusion, I am quite pleased with where my group is right now.

Reflection for Pre Prelims by Leonard

Projects are a great idea and we should develop on it. In my personal account of what I felt of the largest project in my life till date. Being a major project, it requires effort from every member of the group. Personally, I felt that I have grown much in the process of this project. First being I learnt more about teamwork about working together in one unity. Secondly I find that I have developed myself even further as a servant leader instead of being an oppressing one. I have also learnt the purpose of service learning and making other people living a better life. I am sure that I would learn even more in the course of this project.

Cheers,
Leonard
